2020-2021 District Goals
Increase the array and effectiveness of services and programs that promote academic development throughout the District’s schools.
Within the 2020‐2021 academic year the following measurable actions will be addressed:

Newly established in-class support offerings will be implemented for students in grades 9-12
-
District teachers will receive training and support regarding inclusive classroom practices
-
K-6 staff will received professional development and coaching in effective literacy instruction techniques
-
Graduate coursework initiated in 2019-2020 will continue and lead toward Orton-Gillingham teaching qualification for District faculty in conjunction with Fairleigh Dickinson University

Graduate coursework initiated in 2019-2020 will continue and lead toward the completion of ESL and Bilingual endorsement for teachers and qualified paraprofessionals in conjunction with The College of NJ
Expand, infuse and reinforce programs that promote social-emotional growth and provide support for students in each of the district’s schools

Clinical services will be implemented in partnership with Rutgers Behavioral Health for students in grades 7-8 and 9-12

Middle school teachers, paraprofessionals and all District administration will receive support in the development of trauma-informed best practices to employ with identified students in need
-
Research and investigate embedded programs that focus upon trauma informed practices, character education and social-emotional learning at the K-8 grade level
Design, implement and sustain processes and procedures in the District’s business in a manner that promotes thorough and efficient budgetary management and the responsible stewardship of all district assets.
Within the 2020‐2021 academic year the following measurable actions will be addressed:

Effectively implement Systems 3000 in the areas of payroll and budgeting

Ensure that department personnel are provided with the necessary support and guidance in order to accomplish all activities as specified in their job description

Identify areas of deficiency within the department and deploy systems and resources to address those areas

In partnership with the Special Services Department, improve SEMI processes that result in a minimum of a 10% increase from the FY20 snapshot

Identify and recommend a direction for the expansion of instructional space to accommodate the population needs of the District
-
Develop and implement a plan of oversight and planning for buildings and grounds Districtwide
